The Moving Moment by: Jeff Weinstein capsule review

Jeff Weinstein explains the quiet meaning behind photography in his Obit Magazine story on the late photographer/cinematographer Helen Levitt. As if this brief, poignant encapsulation of Levitt’s work was not enough to give the reader a shy and appreciative smile, Weinstein incorporates new media into his work. A podcast produced in collaboration with Daylight Magazine shows a reading of his article in synchronization with a slide show of Levitt’s photography. Weinstein explains the humanism behind Levitt’s art; her candid photos focus on the purity and honesty of human interaction. Levitt approached photography from a hidden angle of invisibility, Weinstein finds her.
